The Brigid of Faughart FestivalThe Brigid of Faughart Festival

This festival celebrates Brigid of Faughart, Saint and Goddess, and the Celtic Festival of Imbolc or Spring in myth, landscape, folklore, spiritual customs, music, poetry and dance. 
The Brigid of Faughart Festival is a celebration of Brigid, both Goddess and Saint.

The emphasis of the festival is to revisit and reclaim the richness of the traditions associated with Brigid of Faughart, in ways which are relevant to our lives in the 21st century.

The Táin Walking FestivalThe Táin Walking Festival 2014

The Cooley Peninsula, Co. Louth

Enjoy the breathtaking views of the scenic Cooley mountains on this wonderful weekend of guided treks suitable for all grades of walkers. The festival will offer geological walks, fascinating historical walks and a spectcular night walk.

The event will showcase the number of outstanding events on the horizon this year. The funds raised at this event will be reinvested into tourism initiatives in the North-East region. 

We are currently extending an invitation to dine in the panoramic restaurant during the races on our gala fundraising evening which will showcase all that the local area has to offer.

Country Dance NightCowboy Dance Night

Sunday 16th March 9.00pm
The Four Seasons Hotel Carlingford

Muchgrange National School Parents’ Association are hosting their final fundraising event for this school year, a Cowboy Dance Night on Sunday 16th March @ 9pm in the Four Seasons Hotel Carlingford. The evening will kick off with line dancing tuition by Mickey Clarke. Irish singing sensation Joe Murray and the Texas Wildcats will then pay tribute as only they can to Country Music Superstar Garth Brooks, who will be back in Ireland July 2014! 

Dress code for the night is Country Casual. So get your dancing boots on, iron those check shirts and polish those belt buckles! There will be prizes for the 'best dressed Cowboy and Cowgirl’. Fun spot prizes also on the night for, ‘The Biggest Stetson’ and 'Shiniest Boots' etc.
Other attractions for the evening include novelty Wild West photographs, finger food, raffle, a line dance display and DJ. Admission is by ticket only. These are €20 and available from the Four Seasons Hotel Carlingford, Muchgrange National School and various local shops.

Carlingford Leprechaun Hunt Flyer 2014Carlingford National Leprechaun Hunt

The Village Green and the slopes of Sliave Foy Carlingford


On the day of the hunt, 100 ceramic leprechauns are hidden on Slieve Foy mountain, to the right of the S.P.A, with a total cash amount of €2000 beneath them. However, people that may come across a real leprechaun are requested not to try to capture them.

Only carriers of authenticated licenses are allowed on the mountain during the hunting period and prospecting licenses are sold with proceeds going to charity

Easter is the time of holy celebration, colorful Easter hats and chocolate eggs… Well, not in Carlingford in Co Louth – get set for the wackiest event of the year.!

The area that hosts the National Leprechaun Hunt is ‘laying’ on a day at the races Easter egg style.  Open to anything that lays an egg - The 2014 Easter National Poultry Races are on!

The sane and insane are invited to watch chickens, roosters, ducks and geese race to the finish line on the Village Green in the picturesque town of Carlingford in County Louth on Easter Monday April 21st. International Boyle Sports have partnered with the innovative event and will be on course to accept bets on ‘Golden Nugget, ‘What a Chick’ or ‘Sunnyside up’.
