Slieve Foye Loop

Rising above medieval village of Carlingford, 588m-high Slieve Foye is not for the faint-hearted walker. No matter where you are in the pretty village, the imposing stature of the mountain summit can be seen in the distance. In good visibility experienced walkers will find it a relatively straight forward experience. There are plenty of easier routes around Carlingford, too, particularly along the Tain Way.

If you're up for the challenge, though, novice walkers can dominate Slieve Foye in the company of experienced trekkers during the annual Táin Walking Festival in October, which attracts like-minder enthusiasts from all over the world.
